    Welcome!
This issue promotes creativity and inspiration. We have a photographic insert from a former French exchange student who documented scenes during her stay in Cape Town and poetry written by students from UWC.
A recurring theme in this issue is the notion of life experience. There is value in the places we visit and the things we see. Art, in any form, allows one to express these meanings we find through experience. Our cover is an example of a longing to express through drawing.
We invite you to read, and engage with the works featured in this issue.

    Vol. 2 No. 2 (2016)

Welcome to our final issue of 2016!
This issue has many thought provoking features including our first isiXhosa poem, photographic research essay and portrait collections. The interdisciplinary nature of WritingThreeSixty presents a platform to think about the work that the Humanities finds itself interested in. The growth in the journals variety of texts demonstrates the desire for scholars to think across disciplines.

    Vol. 2 No. 1 (2016)

Welcome to our first issue of 2016!
In this issue we are crossing borders, as not only do we feature two international pieces of work (one from a student in Germany and another from an artist in Iraq), but we also include works of art that extend beyond poetry and short fiction. We feel these works of art are equally reflective of the disruptive ‘postcolonial’ space and time that the journal finds itself growing in.

Welcome to the first issue of WritingThreeSixty
In 2014, a small group of post graduate students from the English Department at the University of the Western Cape founded WritingThreeSixty, as a bi-annual multi/inter-disciplinary journal, the UWC Graduate Journal of Research and Creative Writing. These students sought to create a platform for emerging scholars and creative writers from UWC‟s Arts and Humanities, under the guidance of the post graduate co-ordinator for the English Department, Dr Fiona Moolla. Their vision was to cre-ate a journal publication that could rival those of its sister institutions, but also stand on its own as a professional and reputable academic publication.
